The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has reassured its beneficiaries that efforts are ongoing to complete outstanding allowance payments, urging those yet to receive payment notifications to remain calm as arrears are being processed.

In a statement issued by its Corporate Affairs Directorate, the Agency confirmed that the majority of beneficiaries have now received all outstanding payments, marking significant progress in the clearance of arrears that had accumulated over recent months.

However, YEA acknowledged that a section of beneficiaries is still awaiting payments, particularly for either February or March. According to the Youth Employment Agency, these differences are largely due to variations in deployment dates and engagement timelines across its various programme modules.

“A number of beneficiaries currently have only the month of March pending, others February which is being processed for payment,” the statement explained.
“Depending on one’s specific deployment and engagement period, beneficiaries are either fully paid or awaiting only the March allowance.”

Technical delays affecting payment alerts

The Agency further clarified that some beneficiaries who have been validated may not yet have received payment alerts due to technical challenges with the banking payment platform.

It emphasised that this does not necessarily mean payments have not been processed, but rather that delays in notification systems may be responsible.

“Validated beneficiaries who have not yet received payment alerts are kindly advised to exercise patience, as this may be due to technical delays associated with the banking payment platform. All payments will be completed in due course,” the statement assured.

Progress on new modules

Beyond addressing arrears, Youth Employment Agency also provided updates on its programme expansion. It revealed that deployment under the Arabic Module is currently underway, with validation exercises expected to be completed within the month.

Once the validation process is finalised, the Agency indicated that allowance payments for beneficiaries under this module will commence promptly, bringing more young people into the programme.

Commitment to improved service delivery

Reaffirming its commitment to beneficiaries, Youth Employment Agency (YEA) stated that it is implementing measures to streamline its payment systems and eliminate recurring delays.

The Agency noted that improving efficiency and ensuring timely disbursement of allowances remain key priorities, particularly given the important role the programme plays in supporting youth employment across Ghana.

Appreciation to beneficiaries

Youth Employment Agency concluded by expressing gratitude to beneficiaries for their patience and cooperation throughout the process.

“YEA expresses its sincere appreciation to all beneficiaries for their patience, understanding, and continued dedication.”

The update comes as thousands of young Ghanaians enrolled in the programme continue to rely on these allowances as a source of income, making timely payments critical to their livelihoods.
