Shatta Wale’s Seized Lamborghini: The Public Relations Manager of the Shatta Movement, Sammy Flex, has confirmed receipt of a court document issued at the instance of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) concerning a request for dancehall artiste Shatta Wale to consent to the shipment of a yellow Lamborghini to the United States.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Sammy Flex stated that the matter has been referred to the artiste’s legal representatives for appropriate action.

“I wish to formally confirm, in my capacity as Public Relations Manager of Shatta Movement, that we have received a court document issued at the instance of EOCO regarding a request for Shatta Wale’s consent in relation to the shipment of the yellow Lamborghini to the United States of America,” he wrote.

He added that the issue is being handled strictly through the proper legal channels and appealed for public understanding as the process unfolds.

Shatta Wale’s Seized Lamborghini: Background to the Seizure

The development follows the seizure of a 2019 Lamborghini Urus from the artiste’s residence on August 5, 2025.

According to a press release issued by EOCO and signed by its Acting Executive Director, Raymond Archer, the operation was conducted after a 2023 request from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Department of Justice.

EOCO stated that its Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU) carried out a lawful search at Shatta Wale’s residence at Trassaco Valley Phase 1 in Accra, which led to the discovery and seizure of the vehicle.

The car was reportedly linked by US authorities to proceeds of the criminal enterprise of Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving an 86-month sentence in the United States for financial crimes.

Questions Over Ownership

EOCO previously indicated that during questioning, the artiste — born Charles Nii Armah Mensah — was unable to provide documentation proving ownership or purchase of the vehicle.

In a statement dated August 21, 2025, EOCO said he could not identify the individual from whom he allegedly purchased the car, claiming it was acquired “from the street” and possibly through a person identified only as “ZAK,” who had contacted him via WhatsApp. The artiste reportedly did not have receipts or transfer documents, aside from a customs declaration bearing Nana Kwabena Amuah’s name.

Possible Return to the US

The FBI and the US Justice Department are expected to submit a formal Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) request to the Government of Ghana seeking the return of the vehicle to the United States as part of a restitution process reportedly amounting to $4.7 million.

EOCO has assessed Shatta Wale and a former senior officer of the National Signal Bureau as persons of interest in the ongoing investigations.

Awaiting Further Details

While the latest court document concerns consent for shipment of the vehicle, details about the specific legal procedures involved have not been publicly disclosed.

Fans and industry observers continue to monitor the situation closely as legal representatives handle the matter on behalf of the artiste.

For now, the Shatta Movement maintains that it will address the issue strictly through legal channels as investigations proceed.
