Circle Phone Dealer

Circle Phone Dealer: The Ghana Police Service has arrested three people in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old Nana Yaw Kyere, a phone dealer whose disappearance in Accra has ended in a tragic discovery.

The arrests follow investigations into the disappearance of the phone dealer, who was reported missing on September 22, 2026, after leaving his residence at Kokomlemle several days earlier.

According to the police, preliminary investigations have linked three suspects Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai to different aspects of the incident.

The case has attracted attention following the discovery of a partially burnt body at Community 18, which was later identified by the victim’s relatives as that of Nana Yaw Kyere.

The Ghana Police Service says investigations are ongoing, with efforts being made to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged kidnapping and murder and to determine whether other individuals were involved.

Nana Yaw Kyere Reported Missing After Leaving Home

According to a statement from the Police Public Affairs Directorate dated September 28, 2026, Nana Yaw Kyere left his residence at Kokomlemle in Accra on September 19, 2026.

He was reportedly driving his Honda Civic vehicle at the time.

However, the 33-year-old phone dealer did not return home, prompting concerns from his relatives and eventually leading to a missing-person report.

The disappearance triggered investigations by the Ghana Police Service’s Missing Persons Unit, which began efforts to establish the whereabouts of the missing man.

Police investigations subsequently uncovered information that allegedly connected the victim to the residence of one of the suspects at Teshie Agbleza.

Police Say Victim Was Allegedly Lured to Teshie

Preliminary investigations by the police indicate that Nana Yaw Kyere was allegedly lured to the residence of suspect Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe at Teshie Agbleza by Sarah Osei Adams.

The police say the two suspects have made statements admitting their alleged involvement in events leading to the death of the phone dealer.

According to the preliminary account, a confrontation occurred at the residence, during which Philip Tefe allegedly attacked Nana Yaw Kyere with a metallic object.

The victim reportedly sustained serious injuries during the incident.

Police investigations indicate that the injured man was subsequently left unattended in another room and later died from the injuries he had sustained.

The circumstances surrounding the confrontation, including what led to it and the events immediately before and after the alleged attack, remain part of the ongoing police investigation.

Body Allegedly Transported and Set Ablaze

Following the victim’s death, police say the suspects allegedly moved his body from the residence.

Investigators have established that on September 20, the body was allegedly transported in a Kia Morning vehicle to an area near the motorway.

The body was reportedly dumped in a bush and set on fire.

The following day, September 21, a partially burnt body was discovered at Community 18.

The discovery intensified efforts to identify the remains and establish whether they were connected to the missing-person case involving Nana Yaw Kyere.

The victim’s biological mother and uncle later formally identified the remains at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24, according to the police statement.

Police Recover Victim’s iPhone

As investigations progressed, the police also traced one of the victim’s personal belongings.

The victim’s iPhone 12 was reportedly recovered during police operations.

According to investigators, Philip Tefe allegedly sold the phone for GH¢100.

Police subsequently traced the person who allegedly purchased the device.

The buyer, identified as Sunday Omeje, has been cautioned and detained on suspicion of dishonestly receiving the phone.

His involvement is also subject to the ongoing investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings.

The recovery of the phone is expected to form part of the evidence being examined by investigators as they work to reconstruct the events surrounding Nana Yaw Kyere’s disappearance and death.

Third Suspect Arrested Over Alleged Disposal of Body

The police investigation also led to the arrest of Josiah Obodai, who is suspected of playing a role in the disposal of the victim’s body.

According to the police, intelligence gathered during the investigation led officers to Obodai.

Investigators also impounded a Kia Morning vehicle belonging to Obodai’s father.

The vehicle is believed by investigators to have been used to transport the victim’s body.

Police are expected to conduct further examinations and investigations into the vehicle and other evidence gathered in connection with the case.

Three Suspects Remain in Police Custody

The three main suspects Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai are currently in police custody as investigations continue.

The police say the suspects are expected to appear before the court.

Investigators are also working to establish whether other people may have been involved in the alleged kidnapping, murder and subsequent disposal of the body.

The Ghana Police Service has therefore continued to appeal for information that could assist investigators in establishing the complete circumstances surrounding the death of the 33-year-old phone dealer.

Investigation Continues

The arrest of the three suspects represents a significant development in the investigation into the disappearance and death of Nana Yaw Kyere.

However, the police investigation is still ongoing, and the allegations against the suspects will have to be tested through the judicial process.

Authorities are expected to gather further evidence, question persons connected to the case and examine the items and vehicles believed to have been used during the incident.

The case also highlights the importance of prompt reporting and investigation of missing-person cases, particularly where circumstances surrounding a person’s disappearance remain unclear.

For now, the three suspects remain in police custody as the Ghana Police Service works to uncover the full details of the incident and determine whether additional persons should face investigation.

The public will be closely watching the next stage of the case as the suspects are brought before the court and investigators continue their efforts to establish what happened to Nana Yaw Kyere after he left his Kokomlemle residence on September 19.
