Twifo Hemang: Health Directorate Honours MP, DCE and Assemblyman at 2025 Annual Performance Review

Twifo Hemang: The Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District Health Directorate has honoured key political and community leaders for their outstanding support toward improving healthcare delivery in the district.

The awards were presented during the Directorate’s 2025 Annual Performance Review held on 17th February 2026 in the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District, as part of activities to assess the district’s performance against 2024 targets and chart the way forward.

MP Honoured for Commitment to Health Development

A special recognition award was presented to the Member of Parliament for the Hemang Lower Denkyira Constituency, Hon. Lawrence Agyinsam, in acknowledgement of his continuous support to health infrastructure and service improvement initiatives in the district.

The plaque was received on his behalf by his representative, who conveyed the MP’s appreciation to the Directorate and reaffirmed his commitment to partnering with the health sector to enhance access and quality of care.

The directorate cited the MP’s advocacy and support for health-related interventions as instrumental in strengthening service delivery within several communities.

District Chief Executive Recognised

The District Chief Executive for the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District Assembly, Hon. Patrick Fiable, was also honoured for his leadership and collaboration with the Health Directorate.

The Directorate commended the DCE for supporting sanitation campaigns, infrastructure improvements, and public health initiatives that have contributed to improved health outcomes across the district.

In his remarks, the DCE reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to working closely with the Health Directorate to address gaps in infrastructure, logistics, and staffing.

Assemblyman Applauded for Community Support

An award was further presented to the Assembly Member for Ayebiahwe Electoral Area, Hon. Shadrack Nimo Johnson, in recognition of his active involvement in community mobilization, health infrastructure support, and advocacy for improved healthcare services at the grassroots level.

The Directorate noted that collaboration between health facilities and local leadership remains critical to strengthening community participation in health programmes, including immunisation campaigns, sanitation drives, and maternal health initiatives.

Strengthening Partnerships for Better Health

Speaking at the ceremony, the district health director, Mr. Daniel Baah, emphasized that healthcare delivery is a shared responsibility that requires strong partnerships between the health sector, political leadership, and communities.

They noted that the recognition awards were not only symbolic but also a demonstration of appreciation for leaders who prioritise health development in their constituencies.

The 2025 Annual Performance Review highlighted significant progress in service delivery indicators, and management expressed optimism that sustained collaboration with stakeholders would accelerate progress toward universal health coverage in the district.

The ceremony ended with a renewed call for continued investment, advocacy, and joint planning to further strengthen healthcare systems in the district.
